Seriously, what's the meaning of vacation? I leaned towards Webster's Dictionary for the answer.
"Vacation (noun) - a period spent away from home or business in travel and or recreation."
Ok, perfect, well, today was rather an unusual day, I had a conference call meeting this morning and Holli had a bank meeting this afternoon. I wouldn't call it life or death, but sometimes we just have to slave to the man when your on vacation. It's an unfortunate proposition, but a necessary evil. If you like the color of green versus pink, then it's usually in your best interest to answer the mail. Everyone wishes that they could just fall off the grid and then reappear when vacation is over. I remember a few years back when we would travel up to Montana from Utah, once we crossed the Idaho/Montana border, the phone service didn't work. I would look forward to that moment, reminds me when I didn't have technology strapped to my hip and if I wanted to know something, I picked up a newspaper or Sports Illustrated. However, our jobs are part of our lives and paying a little attention or making an effort to answer a couple of emails just keeps the seat warm back at the cubical. Long story short, today was an anomolie and I anticipate a small frequency of work vibes over the next 10 days.
For those that work on vacation....I salute you.
